The physical law of polarity means that every element in nature has a positive or negative charge – polarity. When the polarity is the same, the two elements repel each other; when the polarity is different, they attract each other. This gives teeth a negative polarity and plaque a positive polarity.
A polarity toothbrush allows the polarity of the teeth to temporarily change from negative to positive when the teeth are touched, so the plaque slowly transfers from the teeth to the toothbrush. To clean the air quickly and efficiently, it is best to place the ionizer as high up as possible. The negative ions fall towards the ground and on their way remove absolutely all airborne pollutants (dust, carcinogenic exhaust gases and soot, bacteria, viruses, odours, etc.) which, once ionized, cannot rise back into the air and are got rid of forever. The air is completely clean and fresh.

If you live in areas where air pollution is worse all year round and in winter, when particulate matter (PM) concentrations are really high, the outdoor air is heavily polluted with soot, smoke and smog. We recommend that you do not ventilate and only use an ionizer at that time, otherwise you will get even more dirt into the room.
However, even if the window is closed, you should be aware that dirt still enters the interior together with the outside air, because air is regularly exchanged through the structure itself and you cannot prevent this. You know that warm air would soon become cold if you stopped heating. This is because of the exchange of air through the structure, through the walls. No, you should not notice any particular smell when the IONEX ionizer is working, although some ion-sensitive people describe the smell of negative ions as “fresh clean smell after a thunderstorm”. The IONEX ionizer does not have a fan, so do not expect a strong blast or any sound. If you put your nose or mouth close to the carbon brush, you can only feel a slight, quiet blast when/if the voltage in the building is higher (approximately 230-240 V). The result of the air ionization is noticeable within a few days, when air pollution starts to accumulate around the ionizer (you can notice a dark dust circle around it – it is dark because of all the exhaust gases, soot, smoke and dust in the air). You can place a white piece of paper under the ionizer to test its operation. How long it will take for the dirt around the ionizer to become noticeable depends of course on the air pollution. No timer is needed to switch off, as there are never too many negative ions. In fact, we had to put a lot of effort into getting the maximum amount of negative ions.
Of course, the ionizer is actually highly recommended for children and completely safe to use. No. The ionizer can be used by all age groups of all health conditions without any reservations, but it is especially recommended for asthmatics, people with allergies, high blood pressure, weak immune systems, people under stress, children, during the flu and winter season to defend against infectious diseases, in public areas, etc.
Yes, it is a perfectly normal phenomenon of static electricity, which is not dangerous (even for children), so don’t worry, it just feels unpleasant (it pricks you) if you touch it. This happens if we have a lot of synthetic objects in the room – curtains, upholstered seats, etc., or if we wear rubber soles on our shoes or slippers. Rubber is not a conductor, so static builds up in our body and is released when it touches an object. When you touch a metal object (a familiar example is a car door), the static electricity that has built up inside you, which you have not been able to discharge because of the rubber on the sole of the shoe, shocks you.
To eliminate this static electricity, the process is simple. Unplug the ionizer from the mains, place the plug on the carbon brush for a moment and the appliance discharges. However, always discharge the ionizer before cleaning it.
Additional safety instructions
Never rinse the ionizer under running water or with other liquids when cleaning. Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it from the mains and use a damp (not wet!) cloth. Do not put anything in the slot where the carbon brush is located to avoid damaging it.
Do not use the appliance if the cord, plug or other parts are damaged. In this case, the repair must be carried out by an authorised person or by our customer service. Do not allow children to play with the appliance when it is live.
Correct. IONEX Ionizers do not have filters as they do not filter the air. Filters are completely unnecessary, as we will explain below.
This is how the air is cleaned: Negative ions coming out of the ionizer stick to particles in the air. This “weighs” them down, forcing them to the floor or surface, where they stay until you wipe them off. Importantly, these particles no longer rise into the air and can no longer be breathed in because they are ionised and this is how it protects our lungs. So an ionizer cleans the air by ionising it and it is the only one that can remove sub-micrometre particles of soot, exhaust gas (PM particles of all sizes), chemicals and other particles that filters are not able to remove, but it is these particles that are the most dangerous to your health. If an ionizer were to use a filter, it would necessarily have to use a fan that is loud (even if it has the quietest motor), which is disturbing when used in a bedroom. However, there is no filter on the market that is capable of stopping such small particles, so ionisation is essential to ensure completely clean and healthy air. Plus, you have no hidden costs by changing filters. The carbon brush does not need to be replaced, so the ionizer has a lifetime of more than 10 years.
Maintaining the ionizer is simple: first, unplug the ionizer from the mains and discharge it. To do this, place the plug on the carbon brush for a moment. Electricity on carbon brushes is not dangerous because it has only 1.6W of power. Then wipe the appliance on the surface and on the carbon brush with a soft cloth (which can be slightly damp and soaked in detergent). We advise that you also clean the immediate surroundings of the IONEX Air Ionizer as most of the airborne dirt is located in the vicinity of the IONEX Air Ionizer. The amount of dirt depends on the amount of pollution in the external environment of your home and also on the time of year (more dirt accumulates in winter due to emissions from the heating). This dirt looks like a black-grey layer and can also be deposited on the wall. If it is necessary to bleach the wall, be aware that this is no longer necessary later on, because the dirt accumulates over time only around the ionizer, whereas before the air in the room was saturated with dirt from all the years when you did not have an ionizer.
When the carbon brush is completely dry, use your finger to “brush” it a little (spread out the individual carbon filaments to cover as much surface area as possible). Do not place the ionizer on electrical appliances (fridge, TV, monitor, etc.) or metal surfaces, as this increases the generation of static electricity. Never rinse the Ionizer under running water or with other liquids.
The lifetime of the IONEX ionizer is more than ten years, as is the carbon brush, which does not need replacing, but should be cleaned at least once a month or more if you have cigarette smoke indoors.
The price of the ionizer reflects the value of the high quality materials that go into it, especially the unique carbon brush, which is protected in most countries, a not insignificant cost that has to be paid annually. The carbon brush is the most important part of the ionizer, which enables the IONEX air ionizer to be used for a long time (the lifetime of the appliance is more than 10 years). Unlike other ionizers on the market that work on metal needles, plasma or membranes, which emit ozone because the metal reacts with moisture from the air, the IONEX ionizer never emits harmful ozone, which is precisely what makes its patented and unique IONEX carbon brush possible. It is the carbon brush that provides the most powerful negative ion emitting technology and enables ION THERAPY – the inhalation of negative ions directly next to the carbon brush.
Big difference. An air ionizer (more specifically, an IONEX ionizer) emits a huge amount of negative ions from the carbon brush. These are able to heal the organism and destroy viruses.
But a humidifier emits only water vapour (water molecules), which has no possibility of healing, and water is even a host for bacteria, which is why people get sick more often when they use humidifiers.
These two devices are not compatible in one device because the air ionizer needs a high voltage (4500V) to emit negative ions to break the (carbon) atom and release the negative ion, so it also has a low power (1.6 W) and consumes negligible electricity (approx. 2€/year).
In contrast, a humidifier needs more power (at least 40 W) and a low voltage (110 – 220V) and consumes significantly more electricity. The ionisation button is actually misleading the customer because it does not produce any ionisation. We have tested some of these devices with an ionoscope (i.e. a device that measures the presence of negative ions), which has not detected the presence of a single negative ion.
